Today is Easter sunday, I remember when I was newly married every Easter I had a new outfit and a new hat, as was the custom for so many years.
My mother told me a story a few years back, she lived in the country and had to walk about two miles to school, she lived on a dirt road and had to walk to the highway where her school was, this would have been around 1928 or so. Anyway back then my grandmother used to order stuff from the catalog in the winter and in the spring, in the winter she would order her kids each a complete brand new outfit of clothers for the following spring. One day she said to my mom, stay home, I am going to work (she worked at cleaning houses) the order is coming in today. So my grandmother left for work, this was near Easter, so Mom said her order came in very early, Mom got all dressed up, a new dress, new stocking, new shoes even a new hat. Mom said that she thought she would go to school with her new outfit. Mom was quite shy when she was young, anyway she started walking to school , so proud of her new clothes, she got to school (it was a one room schoolhouse), enters the class, sits down and everyone was staring at her, Mom wondered why. Not even ten minutes had she sat down that the school bell rings.
Class was over.
Now I would like to share a poem with you that I composed for genealogy, and I believe at the moment it is being shown somewhere in Wales UK, a friend of mine I met through genealogy liked it and asked my permission to use it. Here it is;

WITH HOPES AND DREAMS AND SPECIAL PLANS
FROM IRELAND, SCOTLAND, WALES AND ENGLAND
FRANCE,GERMANY,CHINA AND FINLAND
LANDING IN A STRANGE NEW LAND
AND NATIVE AMERICANS LENDING A HAND
IN BIBLES, WILLS, OLD RECORDS WE LOOK
CEMETERIES, CENSUSES AND ALL KINDS OF BOOKS
DIGGING AND SEARCHING DAY AFTER DAY
EUREKA WE FOUND IT ,HURRAY HURRAY
SO OUR LEGACY TO YOU WILL BE
