There is a saying that a dog never forgets, and we really believe this to be true. Today we went to visit our dog Thunder whom we haven't seen in at least two years. We had to give him to a good home because of health reasons. Anyway we had tried to see him a few times but the owners were away. So today thinking they would be away again was sort of dissappointing but we took a chance anyway. Driving up the old country dirt road, we arrived at the end of the road where there was a trailer there. We turned in the yard and there was a vehicle in the yard. I got out of the car and asked the lady who was hanging her clothes to dry on the line if they still had Thunder. Why yes! she replied. I said we were his former owners, she was very nice and invted us in. Thinking Thunder would not recognize us, we went in, but we were very wrong. Thunder ran to me and to my friend. Dog kisses were flying let me tell you. Then Thunder laid on his back for me to rub his belly, something I used to do. It was a very nice visit, and when we got ready to leave,Thunder figured " I'm going to" but they brought him in for a treat and we were on our way.We felt very good when we left because now we know Thunder is in a happy home, he can run and play where the traffic is nil, he can go into the woods if he wants to and he has a new playmate called Lightning, another corgi just like him only younger. The new owners told us we are welcome to visit anytime we want to, so that was nice of them. We won't go very often, because now that is Thunder's new home .
Now the postcard photo above is one I created in my gallery, and I have created many more. today I also created a spider guy tee shirt for little boys, and an itsy bitsy spider tee shirt for little girls. You can view them in my children folder or in my tee shirts at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*
Also be sure to check out my genealogy website which has lots more besides genealogy at

Thanks for the visit ,do stop by again.

Oh Baby it's cold outside
Today the weatherman said minus 17 with windchill factor will feel like minus 28, so as you must have guessed Aline is in the nice cozy house, and trying to find many many reasons not to go out. grin. The title of today's blog reminds me of my grandaughter. When she was around 2years old ,she came to visit and her papa (grandfather)and papa was sick so she had to come with memere(me) to get something at the pharmacy. It was cold that day and I had her all bundled up and I was carrying her and as we were walking I started singing "Baby it's cold outside". All of a sudden she started singing in her own little way "Baby brrrrrr side". Did I ever laugh. Ah memories are something to share and write down somewhere for others to see and laugh or cry one day. For the ones who has children or grandchildren you must know what I mean. Now I was reading about some children from Haiti being adopted in Canada and possible the USA and to the new parents of these children, you have a lot to write about then and now is the time to do so, write how your heart went out to them and you wanted to give them lots of love and a good life. Take a lot of photos of them, tape their voices, and write down how they adapted to their new lives. This will be so important to these children one day. If I would have been one of the people adopting a child, I would get as much information about their lives before I got them as I could, their real parents if I knew and keep a lot of records because everyone wants to know who they are ,where they are from, I have a half sister somewhere, I know it is one of two women but which one is it? This gnaws at me over and over. As the saying goes "enquiring minds want to know". Now changing the subject, last night I worked again on my store and I have added some more postcards , one of Cornwall Ontario, it is an old photo, and a couple of Sudbury Ontario, some funny tee shirts ,and some items with an old King Edward Cent on them, the cent or penny was an old big brown one dated 1910. I have it on a postcard, and magnets, and badges too. I created a hat for all the Canadian Provinces ,these can be found in my Miscellaneous folder. I added a couple of things for Maine USA , and also Acadian and Cajun posters. So if you are in the vicinity of Allicor's store at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor* I do hope you will stop by even if it is only for window shopping. I think I shall add this blog on another blog of mine too. I honestly liked what I wrote. Until next time

Cold Winter Days
For many of us, it is winter time and winter brings snow and it brings cold weather. I was listening to the news last night and it showed other places gripped by the cold and bad weather.
Florida for one, is in a cold snap, and this could mean that their oranges will be spoiled and that means if they lose their crops, the fruit in our grocery store could go up in price.
Here where I live yesterday it was cold, with the wind chill factor it felt like minus 25 celsius, and that is cold. I never started my car, I sure hope it will start today because it is still cold.
So what can we do if its too cold to go anywhere? Ahhhhh, there is something we can do and that is to put all our genealogy stuff in order, or start our family tree journal? Rearrange our photos, identify them. If we have a family tree software like Legacy or Family Tree Maker of PAF etc we can maybe add more names, do some searching at Ancestry or if we have French-Canadians lines we can check out Tanguay's dictionary online. Genealogy is a hobby that is endless, meaning there is always something else to do. Has a member in your family or relative passed away recently? Did you add their date of death to your records? What about the ones who just got married? Now is the time to take notes it will save lots of time later trying to find those dates.
Now changing the subject, I have been busy with a few things, I am thinking of adding something on my website, but am researching on how to do it, this is a project that may help someone in some way. If I do it , I will let you all know when it is finished.
And I am still creating things for my store, (you can see the flash panel way at the bottom of this page). Today I made two reunion invitations, (but I am hoping to get better at it) and I did some funny stuff yesterday. You can see the invites in the greeting card folder and the funny stuff in humor , and in tee shirts, did some Irish things too. So you can go window shop, the store is quite big , and if you happen to like something it is there for sale. I recently sold some invitations and I was glad ,because it gave me incentive to create more. grin. Oh and if you go to the children folder you will see a postage stamp of three children, (I am one of them)and I an now on a postage stamp. grin. These are real postage stamps approved by the USA Post. I also have other postage stamps, a valentine girl one, another pretty little girl, Rocky the Raccoon, and more.
I have lots of funny bumper stickers, also some with good advice. You can go to
http://www.zazzle.com/allicor* and look around. Now it is coffee time and so I shall see you all next time.

Children May Want To Know
Are there any of you out there who are looking for a lost love one or parents? If not, I do know that there must be lots of children looking for their parents. They want to know who they are and where they come from. They want to know if they have brothers or sisters somewhere.
Many children have been adopted out, regardless of the reason, they were given up for adoption.
I know of some women who have been reunited with their son or their daughter. And it has been a happy reunion. Children need to know, that sometimes there are reasons why they have been given up . Maybe because the mother wanted a good home for them and could not afford it?
Or maybe the mother wasn't married and afraid of what others would say.
I myself have a half sister whom I haven't found yet, I have it narrowed to two woman, it is one of the two but which one? I have them in my mind, I would love so much to find out the truth and my half sister. Perhaps some day I will find out for certain.
Now another thing, during the world wars, men went overseas, and some had children born there, and they returned to America without their child. Those children must be wondering which one of the soldiers is my father? And while the men were gone ,sometimes their wives had children that they had to give up for adoption.
We hear stories of parents and children finding each other, some may be dissappointed at what they discover but regardless, we are who we are. If you are a child looking for your parents, you need to remember ,no matter how your parents turned out, without them, there would be no you. And maybe all these years your mother has had a very heavy heart having to give you up.
I would love to see all the mothers who gave up their child find that child one day, and all the children out there who are looking and wanting to find out who they are, I wish with all my heart that you would all find that parent. One thing I would like to add, is "To all of you who are searching ,even if you have been looking for a long long time, Never ever ever give up looking and searching. Post on message boards, go to Adoption Boards, look for clues.
I wish you all lots and lots of luck.
Now it is time for me to prepare for our Bergeron-Damboise Reunion this weekend, tomorrow we load three cars with lots of goodies. So I will say goodnight and thanks for the visit.
Do stop by again.
Have a great day tomorrow
