Well hello everyone. Who do you think you are is a weekly show by Ancestry.com. It traces some of the ancestors of famous people. The last show was about Rosie O'Donell, it was quite interesting, it took her to various locations. I was surprised when one of her ancestors showed up in Quebec Canada, and then she found a clue as to what part of Ireland they came from and she went to Ireland, found some baptisms in Ireland . This reminds me of Roots. I enjoyed Roots so much since at the time I was just starting to do my own family tree, and at the time I wondered what I would find while tracing my tree. Well since then I have found tons of information. If you google Barthelemy Bergeron dit Damboise you will come up with a fascinating story about him and his children, some of them ended in Louisiana ,some of his family were massacred in Fredericton , one of his grandsons led a group of Acadians through the woods ,up the St Lawrence River to St Gregoire Quebec. We had a Bergeron-Damboise reunion in Fredericton in 2009, we had nearly 100 who attended , and they were from all over, Louisiana,Virginia,Massachussetts,Maine,Quebec,Ontario ,New Brunswick, and elsewhere, what a great feeling to all be together and we walked from the Lieutenant Governor's house on a path leading to the cemetery where Barthelemy and his wife are buried. I was thinking during the walk, "if Barthelemy and Genevieve were looking down at us they sure would have been proud of all of their family." If you have never done your family tree and would like to find out where you come from, there is always help out there ,ask questions and get started ,you will have a good feeling knowing who you are, no matter what your ancestors were or did ,remember without them you would not exist.
So getting back to my story ,after watching Who do you think you are, I went on Ancestry and for the fun of it, typed in my Abraham Chate from England, I was surprised because I found three more children that I didn't know about. See Abraham married Ann Bennett in Camberwell England, they had two daughters born there (new to me) then they moved to Deptford and two sons were born there, then they must have went back to Camberwll another son was born there, (new to me again) and then back to Deptford where another son and daughter were born. So now I have three more children, I didn't have before but one of the daughters died in Camberwell as a baby. So there are two children,Ann Chate and John Chate that I must try and find, also need to find who Charles Chate and Thomas Chate married. Abraham Chate's son Abraham is the one who came to Canada ,he was known as Abraham Chase who married Marie Rose Girouard , how I came to connect Chase to Chates I found Abraham listed in the land grants as Abraham Chate.
One must remember when doing our family tree, names changed over time, the spellings for example, the priest or whoever took census sometimes wrote as the name sounded thus making it harder in our research. So make sure you check names that sounds like your surnames while searching for your roots.
Now I want to finish this blog by letting you know if you are looking for genealogy related products for gifts or for yourself, I have lots on Acadians,Cajuns,Irish,Scottish, and just Genealogy at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*

Genealogy has good days and bad days
Well hello everyone, it has been a while since I blogged genealogy: Well I have not given up my genealogy, on the contrary I am always searching either for me or for others. Right now I am at a standstill maybe for a little while maybe for a long while. I am looking for a Olivier Robichaud born around 1803 married to a Marie Louise Mazerolle. Now I have searched many places with no luck, I found the death of Olivier in Escuminac New Brunswick in 1853 he was age fifty that is where I got to my 1803 theory. Now I could not find him in the census of 1851 after that he had died. I found some of his children, not one godparent with the surname Robichaud to be found.
Now it could be possible that Olivier was baptized with a another name plus Olivier for example Jean-Olivier or Pierre_Olivier etc. So this search goes on. I even spoke to Stephen White and he has nothing on Olivier except the names of his in laws, but Stephen may not have gotten that far in his research yet. So what am I to do? Maybe look on the family of Marie Louise Mazerolle to see if there are some Robichauds listed . The search goes on.
Now on another note I am in the process of transcribing more records but they are not complete yet, when I am finished I shall add them to my website and let everyone know.
I am sure you have noticed my two tee shirts here, these are some that I created, you change the name ,age and location to suit yourself. These can both be found in my genealogy folder at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor* They would make great reunion shirts or gifts for anyone into genealogy . This is it for now, thanks for stopping by

How an Acadian helped
If any of you are familiar with Moncton New Brunswick then you probably heard about the German families who first arrived from Philadelphia to settle in Moncton. These were the Lutz, Somers ,Ricker ,Jones ,Steeves ,Copple ,Wortman and the Trites. Now the Jones and Trites stayed on Moncton land and the rest moved to the Hillsborough area. I was reading the book “The first hundred year “about how Moncton got its start and mainly about the family of Jacob Trites who was a Dutchman from Amsterdam and he came to Moncton by way of Philadelphia. It is an interesting book. A family coming to a strange land ,not knowing what to expect when they arrived. I kept reading the book and got to a chapter on an Acadian, well that really interested me because I have Acadian blood ,plus French Canadian ,plus English and even Native American way way back. Anyway I wanted to share that chapter with you. Remember the Trites were coming to an unknown area, so there were lots of things they had to learn. Here is part of the chapter:
An occasional visitor to the Moncton township settlers was an Acadian named Belliveau (am wondering if it would have been Pierre Belliveau) who with his large family was successfully engaged in working a large tract of upland on the Moncton side of the river almost opposite the Hillsborough township. It was from Belliveau who had first visited the Trites family in early spring of 1767 that the new settlers had learned to tap the maple trees, and from their sap to create a delicious sweet syrup and to make from the same type sap a form of sugar which served as a delicious sweetener. Belliveau had told the Trites family how after the British captured For Cumberland in 1755 ,he had his family had fled overland to New England to avoid the British raiding parties which operated from the fort ,had sacked and burned the farms of the Acadian settlers along the Memramcook River. These parties had also carried out raids against the Acadians at Shepody seizing all their property and carrying their livestock back to the fort. On learning that the Moncton settlers were not British and that German was their native tongue, Belliveau had no fear of them and offered them the benefit of his experience in using the natural resources of the land. He showed them how to snare rabbits, how to identify edible and nourishing samphire and goose tongue greens which grew on the marshes in the early summer.
He showed them how to make snowshoes so they could travel in winter and provided them with their first seed potatoes. From the potatoes came the delicacy poutine rapee. These are very popular to this day, (I love them). If we could go back just to observe I am certain that this Acadian Belliveau taught these families many things and I am sure a friendship must have grown between this Acadian family and the German families who settled nearby. I hope you have enjoyed this blog, and if you are interested in genealogy , and would like to see my genealogy products go to my store at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor* click on my genealogy folder and enjoy.
Have a great day, thank you for the visit do stop by again.

Cemetery Secrets
What can we learn from visiting cemeteries? Well many of those tombstones has a wealth of information. Did you know for instance that this Jane Doe died accidentally? Did you know that Uncle Tom died overseas? Did you know that Mary was only 17 when she died? Lots of tombstones have images on them such as a truck which was where the deceased worked? Deer image he liked hunting. Fishing image he was a fisherman.
Note : you can find this tee shirt in my genealogy folder at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*
Then there are the wives : Did you know that Grandmother was way younger than Grandfather? Or that Grandfather married more than once? All these little details are great for anyone doing genealogy or tracing \their family tree. When you begin your family tree make sure that checking cemeteries and obits are on your list of things to do. Be sure to bring your notebook and camera when you do go cemetery hunting.
This lovely binder would be great to add your genealogy or family tree notes inside. You can buy looseleafs and plastic page protectors. That is how I began doing my family tree. This binder can also be found in my genealogy folder at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor* or click on the image.
Speaking of cemeteries I also would like to add that I have added more names to my Rumford Maine USA cemetery. My friend Lorraine sent me more names and you can view them at the bottom of the cemetery page. Go to http://www.acadian-roots.com/ go to Cemeteries of USA and then scroll to Rumford Maine. I added the new names at the bottom of the page to make it easier to find the new ones. So I do hope you learned something from todays blog.
Have a great day ,be sure to check out my gallery Christmas will soon be here http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*

Someone someday will want to know

Many people are curious about who they are, where they come from and want to know about what kind of ancestors they had.
For example, were they important? (well to us they were). Were they rich,or famous or were they pirates, scoundrels and thieves.
Were some of our ancestors heroes ? At one time or another someone in our families will want to know, it may not be you but it may be you children, grandchildren, cousins etc. Now how many of you would love to have the history of your family? Well now is the time for all of you who are interested or who know of someone who might be to do something about it. Christmas is on its way, and it brings times of gifts and what better gift than to create a family tree ,even a family photo album for your love ones or friends. You can add things like what kind of work they did, where they lived, did they move ? Where to? Did they have a farm or own a factory? Add photos in the book, add obituaries, marriage certificates, their children, who they married. Little stories about them if you can gather them. Talk to family and friends, see if they know something.
Once you have all you info, what you can do that will not cost much, Get a binder like the one I created, pick up some plastic page protectors, and some photo paper for your photos and also computer paper and get to work and once you are done, gift wrap your family tree book and voila you have a Christmas Gift or Birthday Gift all ready to give. To see more about the binder above, click on the Binder URL below. And be sure to check out my genealogy products at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor* I do hope this blog will inspire many of you, now is the time to get busy and create the family tree books.

Long time no blog
Hello everyone well it has been some time since I blogged so here I am. I have been pretty busy with my genealogy research , am waiting for the final photos and information for my Leger book and next I work on the Richards. I have quite a bit of information on the Richard line but need the final information and photos there too. I am also going to go to the genealogy center to find a couple of obits in the newspaper relating to this family. As you know with genealogy the more information you have the more interesting the family tree book. This has been my opinion since I first began doing my family tree way way back and long long ago. grin. To me finding that my great grandmother planted an orchard with seeds with her own hands if very important, because last week I went to see the orchard and saw some apples on the ground and a few in the trees ,they must have been picked over. But knowing this lady who I am part of planted this way back in the early 1920s. Awesome!. I only wish I could have picked up a nice apple to bring back to Mom who is 92 and remembers the orchard when she was a little girl.
I am also working on my Facebook groups "Old Photos of New Brunswick Canada" ,you should see all the photos added there for all to share, I believe there are around 400 photos and growing so if you have any photos of New Brunswick that you want to share ,join the group. And I still have my Williams dit Bristol group where I am looking for any descendants of Mathurin Williams dit Bristol and Angelique Gauthier, I am trying to get as many cousins together as possible and we are posting photos there too.
I still have my acadianrootsclub and petiteacadienne groups in Yahoo plus Chat n Brag which is a private group. And I still find the time to work on my store at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor* and I created another website regarding my zazzle store where I am adding some of my products, I set up that website exactly like my website acadian-roots.com this site is http://www.allicorshop.acadian-roots.com/ so you can check out all these urls if you have the time. you never know what you will find. I created the mug above a few days ago, it would make a lovely Christmas gift for that special someone. And finally I found the time to say hello to each of you. Oh and I have other blogs one of the is http://www.mrsallicor.blogspot.com/ ,I think that one will be popular because I have one called Allicor's Boutique and it is harder to access than the above one which I have named Allicor's Unique Boutique. So for you followers the above blog for my zazzle store will be reaching a lot more readers, please come follow me there? This blog here is a separate blog which I will keep on doing it will still contain genealogy and tidbits.
Thanks for the visit do stop by again. And to you zazzlers when I feature the stores my blog at mrscormier will be reaching more folks.
Have a great day

Genealogy and Humor
Genealogy like anything else has it's funny moments, and that is a good thing it keeps us motivated in keeping on going. Sometimes we hit brick walls, then one day they come tumbling down. It might take a long time for that wall to break, but there are so many new resources that seem to appear, places we haven't looked through, places we don't think to look through and all of a sudden we hit a gold mine, well to the researchers it is like a gold mine, or finding that pot of gold (lost ancestor).
I am at the present doing two different surname lines for someone and I thought "Gee I have that line connected right to the first ancestor recorded " Not so ! Come to find out, I was barking up the wrong tree, same name, different line. groan. But that didn't stop me, back to the searching. Oh Boy! Here he is, now I am on the right track. So I am on my way, I know there will be roadblocks along the way but I will get through them. Now I have decided that I needed to create some funny and some nice genealogy products. I have created some churches and will add more, and I have some funny tee shirt like the one above and more if you go to my genealogy folder at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor* you will see what I have so far also you can go to my new website at http://allicorshop.acadian-roots.com/ and look there.
So now I am off to to I don't know what or I don't know where to start things. grin.
Thanks for the visit and please come again
Have a great day

Alzheimers Disease and Ancestors
Have you ever wondered if our ancestors had some similar diseases as we have? Could some of these diseases be passed down to us or our children? Yes I believe some of them can. For instance ,my late husband's grandmother died in a mental asylum, they said she was crazy, but back then there was no dementia ,or alzheimers, they were crazy. My late husband died of Alzheimers and his sister is not afflicted with it too. Could it be coincidence? Or could their grandmother have passed it down tot them
Alzheimers is a disease that robs a person of his mind, his motor skills, his ability to walk, talk ,eat and it is so very hard on their love ones.It is a form of dementia and so many people across the world are affected with it. My late husband was one of them. So I have been there, and know how all the caregivers and love ones are feeling right now. Some of them are taking care of their love ones and they probably don't know what is keeping them going. Well I was there too, as I look back I don't know what kept me going but something did. I think it is because we all have our love ones on our mind, we want to make them confortable, we want to make sure they don't get hurt, we hope that inside their minds they can still hear us and know we love them. Alzheimer patients want to go go go, they have to be watched in order that they don't wander off and get lost. So here are a few things that I did with my late husband, when he was up and about , we had a car and he wanted to go drive the car, he had a set of keys with a black cover, so when I had the chance I took another car key that belonged to another old car we had and I switched the black top and he never knew the difference, he tried the car and I said it broke down and that was accepted. Then he wanted to go to the bank, here it was on Sunday, so he had forgotten about the car being broke, I took him to the bank and I said see it is closed, that sort of eased things, next he wanted to go to his home, which was nearby but gone years ago, he said why didn't you tell me? But sometimes they seem to dissappear really fast, one day it was winter time and he got out and here he was climbing a snow bank through the back yard to go somewhere and he was going the wrong way had I not seen him I would never had known which way to go looking for him. I know they sell medic alert bracelets but I never had one for him, now I came up with an idea of a shirt ,this shirt can be bought in different colors and for men women even children and their phone number will be on the back of the shirt if they get lost or disoriented. I am planning on creating more things like a hat , a badge, anything to identify them. I have added a photo of my shirt.
Have a great day.

What did our Ancestors do for fun?
What did our ancestors do for fun in their days?
Have you ever wondered about this? Well in case you don't know, I am everywhere and on Facebook I started some discussions which seems to be keeping everyone interested and my latest discussion was about Halloween. Well what does this have to do with ancestors? I didn't think it did at first but since I posted on FB I spoke to my Mom who is 92 and would you believe when we were young Dad and Mom dressed up at Halloween and took us children out? We are seven in my family but the time she told me about we were six of us. I had to be around five years old and Mom said that she took old coats and tore the inside linings out, made some costumes and masks and then she even tore up some old clothes for costumes, dressed us and out we went. This paticular day she said they walked to the end of the road (they lived in the country) and when they got there it began raining so our costumes and masks were all sopping wet. When we got home Mom said that the dye from the mask she had made had run down all over her face which made it black. Now I could not imagine my parents going out on Halloween, so if they went out, what about their parents (our grandparents) Did they celebrate Halloween Night? If they lived in the country and the houses were far apart, did they still go out? These are all things that would be nice to know and to add to our notes about them. And speaking of Halloween ,if you are planning a halloween party for the children or for the adults now is the time to order your invitations, posters, and even badges and mugs to give out as prizes at your party.
Have you seen my lastest project? I created another website and am adding some of my products from my main gallery there, so if you want to go there it's at http://www.allicorsshop.acadian-roots.com/ and my main gallery where you will find a lot more of my products is at

Until next time, keep on looking for your ancestors they are out there somewhere.

Blogs and Websites
Have you even been at a point where you cannot think or have what they call a senior moment? Well guess what, I think I have reached it. grin. So I am on a blog that doesn't know which way it is going. I hope that I can keep you interested. I have four blogs to do. One on my space, one on zazzle and two on here. Some are not as active as others. My most used one is this blog because I started this one to go along with my acadian-roots.com website. I was going to talk a lot about Acadians and genealogy but I think my readers would like to read other things too.
Now as you noticed I have recently been talking about my store and posting photos but I feel as if I am sufforcating everyone, seeing as many are not interested in my gallery and again there are many who are interested, so I have decided to create another blog, which I have done so but I have not connected it anywhere so far. So now what am I going to do? Well if you look at my genealogy site at http://www.acadian-roots.com/ you will notice how my site is set up, so I am now setting up another website on the same principle for my store. I intend on blogging there too . My website will be devoted to my store and other stores and I hope to have it created so it will be interesting to go there. I will keep you posted. But don't worry I will still be blogging here.
At the moment regarding genealogy I have been asked to do a two different family trees for someone, I am trying to go into details to make their books interesting, such as find the obituaries, finding some little stories and adding photos, I think this is much better than just writing John was a son of Fred and Mable, he was born1500 and died in 1567. But if I say John was born in a little village on the outskirts of Manitoba and at the age of 19 he married the neighbor Joe Smith's daughter and they settled in Manitoba where John worked as a butcher and he was called to active duty etc etc etc. When I did my family tree which I am always adding to when I come across something. I wrote that my great grandfather married in New Brunswick ,he went where there was work ,for a while they were in Nova Scotia then they went to Maine next they returned home. So as you can see this is much more interesting to read. For the ones of you who are into genealogy maybe just beginning? As you hear stories or read stories about your ancestors write them down, you can always begin with your parents, how did they meet? Does your Mother remember how your Father proposed to her? I think I told you a few blogs ago, that my Dad sold his bike for three dollars and he paid for the licence and for Mom's wedding band with it. I find that so romantic. I am so sorry that I could not talk to my grandmothers when they were living, but back then i wasn't into genealogy, so if your grandparents are living ,ask them questions, I am sure they would love to tell you things, as I have said many times "once they are gone, so are their memories". We need to keep their memories alive.
Now my blog turned out to be quite long huh? grin. So to end this, here is yours truly wearing one of her creations, don't look at the face look at the shirt. haha. you can find this tee shirt and others like it in my genealogy folder at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*
If you cannot read what it says, it says "found some nuts in my family tree" .

What has Aline been doing?
Hello everyone, well today it is raining, we are expection some thunder so I imagine there will be lots of little dogs and cats being afraid. We had a dog named Thunder and he was so afraid of Thunder he would shake and run and try and hide, he is now with another family due to health reasons and this family recently bought another dog ,the same breed as Thunder and they named him Lightning. So they have Thunder and Lightning.
I have been pretty busy lately, I have been doing some genealogy research for someone , which has taken me to the genealogy center, where I love to go. I feel so at home there and I can relax.
And today I added some marriages of Williams dit Bristol folks in my group of the same name on Facebook. You can find me all over the place on Facebook, I am there with the group Old Photos of New Brunswick, Williams dit Bristol group,Trails of our Ancestors group,ALLICOR'S BOUTIQUE page . Good Deeds ,Feeling Good
Now why would good deed make a person feel good? Well I would think of it this way, if someone did a good deed for me, I am sure I would feel good about it and they would feel good doing it.
A couple of days ago,I went to the supermarket to pick up a few articles of groceries, while I was standing at the check out with my cart and groceries, this elderly lady was ahead of me and when the clerk told her what her groceries came to, this lady started looking for her purse ,then she began to panic ,she was so very upset, she had put her purse in another cart and changed carts, and her cart was nowhere to be seen and she kept saying I have never done this before and all my money and cards are in my wallet, what am I going to do? Seeing her so upset I said to her, wait a minute I will go see if I can find it. So there were others at the other checkouts and so I began asking ,have you seen a purse, have you seen a purse? All of a sudden I heard it is at the office, someone had found it and brought it to the office. So the clerk went and got it. This little lady had tears in her eyes because she was so happy to have her purse and all its belongings inside. So this was my good deed and it honestly did make me feel good . And the good deed I did must have paid off because I came home, checked my mail and guess what? I had made a sale in my zazzle store. So maybe the sale was my reward.
I have been working on my gallery, adding new things very often, If an idea comes to me, then I create, this week it was genealogy related, as you know I love genealogy so this was an easy task, last week I was on the shoe creating, next week I haven’t a clue but I honestly love creating and I do hope others will like my ideas and products. You can view them all at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*
The mug on the right side has the image of a reinactment of Montcalm's Victory, we have all read about Montcalm and Wolfe in our history books. Remember to order your invitations early enough and also your children shoes for school. Time sure goes by fast so don't delay.
Thanks for the visit ,do stop by again.

Now we will talk Zazzle. Zazzle is where I created my gallery or my store. There are tons and tons of zazzle stores and lots of great artists among them. I would like to mention a new friend of mine from Melbourne Australia, her name is Rose and she has been promoting my store at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor so in return I would like to promote her store, now she is very talented, and she has a blog and a newsletter which you can subscribe to, in her newsletter she talks about her store but she also helps advertise stores like mine and yours. Each time I make a sale I sent her the list of what I sold and she in turn posts it in her newsletter along with other zazzlers. Here is what she wrote for me to share with you:
Sketchart26 Fine Arts & Photos Newsletter Started on Monday 1st of March 2010. The news letter was influence through my personal belief that we should never just take and should always try to give back. So out of this belief I developed what I now call “Sketchart26 Fine Arts and Photos Zazzle Bog”. The blog was designed to not only display my work but also to display the work of all Zazzle store owners. Over the path of the development stage of the blog I began to realise the importance for all Zazzle store owners to have a place to share their experiences, sales, store, designs and any websites they may have set up to help advertise their store. I believe through sharing these experiences we give hope to all those just starting out and also at the same time we can learning from one another so that we may be able to grow as individuals as well. So the newsletter is sent out once a fortnight each Monday and incorporates anything blogged within the fortnight. It also allows those who subscribes access to a programme I have started called “Tools of The Trade” which is my own tutorials I am writing to help other’s learn what I have learned during my time at Zazzle in the hope to make other’s paths an easier path to take. So I would like to invite you all to sign up and start sending through all your wonderful news about your sales, stores, new designs and anything else that might be of importance to your stores. Customers are also welcome to sign up for the newsletter.
You can sign up through my website or my blog. See links below.

I hope she will get a lot of new subscriptions.
Now I hope you like my two products I added today, there is a story behind them. Today we went to the country and stopped in this Acadian Restaurant where they sold Poutine Rapees, they are the photos on the shirt, they may not look very tasty but they sure are, with a little bit of sugar is the way I like them, some use salt, some even use ketchup, So I bought a couple and brought them home and I said to myself, hmm this would make a great product for my gallery so I set them on a plate on my table , took out a few Acadian things and voila I have a product. I made tee shirts, french and english, I made invitations french and in english, I created a hat, even a necktie and a bag, a mousepad and a postcard . You can find all of these in my Acadian Cajun Folder and in my mouse and greeting card folders too. I do hope you will stop by.
So as Porky Pig used to say "da, dats all foolks." grin.
Thanks for the visit ,do stop by again.

Mother Told Me
Well a few days ago , I went to visit my Mom, and when I go I usually ask her about her past, she is now 92 and her memory is unbelievable, oh she does repeat some same stories but just the same she is one amazing lady.
Anyway this paticular visit, I went in and she was reading the newspaper which she does every morning faithfully. Then she began talking ,she said her father was a jack of all trades and he was a teacher in Maine before he met my grandmother and when they married and had their family,Mom said he used to tutor them at home when he was there, because by then he travelled a lot seeking work. He used to file saws and axes.
Mom said she remembers that he used to read to them by the candlelight from a book by Robbie Burns. Yes the poet. Now this would be back in the mid 1920s.
Mom said her father thought education was very very important and he wanted his children to be educated. Now Mom said her mother (my grandmother )went to grade three in school and her spelling was not good ,but she wanted to write to my grandfather when he was away, so Mom told me, my grandmother would sit by the candlelight and Mom would sit next to her and Grandmother would ask Mom how to spell a certain word and Mom helped her or if she made a mistake in spelling Mom would be by her side correcting her. Now I found this very interesting because it made me feel like I was there, it made me feel good knowing about my grandparents, how they lived, if you are into genealogy or family trees you probably understand what I mean. Our ancestors were much more than names and dates, they were human like you and I, they lived, they loved, they cried, they laughed. So these are things for us to know and cherish and pass down to our children and their children. If you have some relatives who can share stories like these, visit them, ask them questions, and write down all that you can find.
Now changing the subject, I created that Bingo Shirt above, I sort of like the poem that I changed the words to what I wanted to say. You can find that shirt in my tee shirt folder at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor* I also want to say, I bought one of my shirts I created, it is being shipped so when I get it (I hope it fits grin) I will wear it, and show you. Oh and I also created quite a few childrent-shirts with Nursery Rhymes on the front. I will probably add more, you can see those in my children folder. I do hope you enjoyed today's blog and will stop by another day.
Have a great day

Trails of our Ancestors Update
Hello everyone, I would like to let you know that our genealogy project on Trails of our Ancestors is coming along great. We have found the direct line of our winner of our draw. The winner of the draw was having his or her family line researched. We have traced her paternal line Caissie up to the first Caissie which was Roger Kuessy/Quessy,Caissie. (confused yet?) Now that we have the names of the direct Caissie line we will add stories and photos if we can for the winner . Next we began tracing her maternal line . This was a little more work, because we traced the women in her maternal line, meaning her mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, great great grandmother and so on,we finally got as far as we could go which led us to Marie Gaudet. Her father was Jean Gaudet and her mother unknown. I had help doing this, and it was greatly appreciated, since this was our first such project and I wasn't sure how it was going to end. Were we going to hit a brickwall? I thought so at first, because her grandfather was adopted according to the census. But there was a clue in that same census, he was living with his adopted parents Gallants, and he was listed as a Caissie and his date of birth was listed. So off to find a birth record with the same date and name. Yippee ,found it, now to see how come he was adopted. Must find something on his parents, his father married twice, and I searched to see if there was a death recorded for his first wife. Yes found it, she died two years before the Caissie was adopted. So now we found out the reason why he was adopted out. And from then on it was clear sailing. You can see all that we did so far on Trails of our Ancestors group in Facebook. There are also photos of some of the folks there. Now changing the subject, I have also been busy working on my store, I created the above mug last night ,also created a pair of ladies shoes, a beautiful all occasion invitation, a canvas print,a keychain,a binder and a mousepad with the same image. If you are interested you can visit my gallery at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor* You will find a large assortment of different designs , I have some funny tee shirts, something with Scottish Tartans,Acadian and Cajuns products and much more. I do hope ou have enjoyed todays blog and will stop by again. In the meantime do have a great day.

Trails of our Ancestors
What is Trails of our Ancestors ? Well as I told you in another blog, we are doing something similar to Who do you think you are which aired on television and was the product of Ancestry.ca tracing the family trees of celebrities. No we are not tracing celebrities but we (the volunteers and I ) have put together a project, where we are having a draw of names of people who were interested in having their family tree done. The draw deadline for this project will be on Sunday Mother's Day. We are going to trace two lines and get as much information as we can on each individual. We are thinking of doing the fathers side ,then on the mothers side we will be doing only the women. We had to decide on a title for our project, so we decided on Trails of our Ancestors, little did I know that there were many things out there with the same title. So how do you find OUR Trails of our Ancestors? Perhaps through reading this blog. Trails of our Ancestors is on Facebook in the groups, so go to Facebook type in Trails of our Ancestors in the search bar at the top of the page then you will be taken to the group. Now this group is not the only place we will be discussing our findings, we will also be working from my genealogy group acadianrootsclub which is by invite only. So if you are interested let me know and I will send you an invite to our genealogy group, as for Facebook you can go there directly from Facebook. You still have time to enter the draw, add a comment here or come see me through my acadian-roots.com website. A note to say for our first project we are asking for Acadians,Cajuns or French Canadians for the draw. Everyone is welcome to the group Trails of our Ancestors. Now changing the subject ,I created the above poem myself, and made it into a poster and I also made a mug or stein with it, you can view them in my Posters and Mug folders at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*
